60 Dogs Saved

Could you chip in to support a rescue trip to save 27 dogs? Each $7 donation saves a life!  [Update - they actually brought 60 dogs on the trip!]

Please chip in at www.doomeddogs.blogspot.com.

Our friends Connie and Dave are at it again.  This time it is a trip from Oklahoma to bring at least 27 doomed dogs and puppies to safety in Minnesota and Chicago.  Our $200 sponsorship is about $7 a dog - that's as cheap as it gets to save a life!

Here is a message from Connie:

We are scheduled for another transport this next Wednesday, March 23, 2011.

So far we have the following being transported:    Bo Dandy (time up at Tandy County Animal Pound);  Rosco (time up at Tandy County Animal Pound);  Sprite  (time expired and he has heart worms);  Coraline (time expired and she has heartworms);  several puppies  (14) from the Cherokee County Humane Society (no room at the shelter); 9 more dogs from Tandy County Animal Control their time is up on Monday.

Dave and me help out several animal pounds/shelters when the dog's time has expired. Each week we drive to these pounds, pick up these dogs/puppies and transport them to our vet in Tahlequah OK for their required vaccinations and health certificate.  Much time is involved not only from us, but from the pounds that hold onto these dogs instead of putting them down. For this reason, these transports are vital each week to save as many lives as we can.

So far, since January, Save Our Strays, Inc. has saved 68 dogs/puppies/l rabbit/9 cats from the Tandy County Animal Control, and this is just from l pound.

With us making sure these transports happen each week to MN and to Illinois, we can continue to save these great dogs and puppies.

We thank everyone for helping us make this happen.  Without all of you, these trips would not happen.

First picture is of Bo Dandy (when we brought him out of the shelter); 2nd one is of Coraline (sorry it is not very good).

Thank you all again, Connie and David Guthrie
