Chance

Update:  We raised the money needed to help Coastal NC Great Pyrenees Rescue spring Chance from death row, but another rescue beat us to him!  He was pulled from the shelter by that rescue and hopefully is in a good foster now.  CNCGPR refunded the money donated.

Chance, a 12-month-old Great Pyr puppy, had the terrible luck to be picked up as a stray in Abbeville, LA. Why is Abbeville a bad place for a stray? Because the pound in Abbeville has no adoption program. If the owners don't get the dog back in 4 days, they kill the dog as soon as they need space.

The pound only lets one small rescue pull dogs to save. That rescue tries to find other rescues to help, but mostly the dogs that come into the shelter just die there.

Earlier this week I was urgently looking for a resuce to take Chance but I had no luck. I was totally surprised when out of the blue Coastal NC Great Pyr Rescue asked if we could give them some financial support to enable them to save him - what luck!

If we can put together $125, it will pay for Chance to be pulled from this death trap and boarded for a couple of weeks while CNCGPR arranges transport from Louisiana to North Carolina.

Could you please help? Every day counts - we don't know when they will run out of room and have to kill him. Please, let's try to raise the money by Monday!

(Sorry everything is a rush with these dogs. It's the reality, unfortunately - and I have learned too many times that the shelters really do kill the dogs when they don't have space.)

Please contribute $5-$25 to save Chance at the rescue's website:http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/NC708.html

You can contribute by check, Paypal or credit card.

Contributions should be tax deductible - when you contribute, please note that the contribution is for Chance and comment below to help us keep track.
