He has been a stray in our neighborhood for many years. People feed him and many people have tried to adopt him, but he is very shy of people and does not let people touch him.
We found out yesterday that he was in the Orange County kill shelter. We rushed over and bailed him out ($475!) and now he is back home. I suppose his life as a stray is over and his new life as a pet has begun, but now we can fatten him up and get him checked out by a vet and maybe give him the first bath he has had in many years! He is around 12 years old - maybe he can have a less free but more comfortable retirement now!
