Byrd got her name because she is a bird watcher (though she probably does not have the same good intentions a human bird watcher has!) She was a stray in north Georgia. Picked up by animal control, her owners never appeared to claim her. No one wanted to adopt her, so her future looked very grim. Luckily, with our sponsorship, Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta agreed to take her in. Our sponsorship is helping them to afford to vet and foster her, while they train her to be a pet and hopefully keep real birds off her menu.
