Dolly

Update:  Dolly was pulled from the kill shelter by our friends at Great Pyrenees Rescue Society.  She is now in their care in Houston.  Here is an email GPRS sent us:  "Thank you to everyone that donated to Dolly & Bailey!  Dolly is being sprung from the shelter today! She will be on her way to a new life where she will not have to worry about being cast off. She should be in a foster home soon and we will keep you updated.
Bailey is doing much better and will be released from the vet on Saturday where one of our volunteers will pick him up and get him to Houston. We have been told that despite the cruelty that was put upon him he still loves people and loves to give kisses!
On behalf of GPRS and the dogs, THANK YOU and HAPPY HOLIDAYS! You have given them the best gift of all. LIFE!"

This large and beautiful young lady is named Dolly. She is now in a shelter in rural Texas. I sent out some emails trying to find a rescue to take her last week. The wonderful people at Great Pyr Rescue Society responded and said they would! But they need help with paying for boarding her while they find a foster family. They can pick her up from the shelter this week, if we can raise $125 for her boarding.

Dolly is the type of livestock guardian dog that is so gorgeous that three breeds claim them - the Pyr people call them Great Pyrenees, the Akbash people say they are Akbashes and the AS people call them Anatolian Shepards! Of course, ranchers are usually more interested in performance than pedigrees, so she could be all or any one of the breeds! Anyway, she is the spitting image of my running buddy, AJ, so I'll call her an Akbash, so long as you don't tell Great Pyr Rescue!

Please help Dolly find a new home away from the shelter by making a tax-deductible donation in her name to GPRS at their website athttp://www.greatpyreneesrescuesociety.org/
Donation can be made by check, Paypal or credit card. If you do donate, please comment below so we can keep track.

We need to raise $125 by Wednesday to get her out of the shelter - please help!

Thanks!
