Update: We raised the money needed, and the major donor to her cause decided to name her "Loomis" or "LuLu" for short - a name everyone seemed to like!
This is 54, another pure-bred Pyr, in the kill shelter in Brownwood, TX. See the ugly tag tied to her neck - that's how her rancher owner kept track of her - by number, not by name, just like a steer. She was downsized from the ranch and ended up the shelter to be put to sleep. Nice human being, that owner.
Anyway, she is a real sweetie and still trusting and affectionate to humans, despite her history.
When the people from Great Pyr Rescue Society went to pick up Dolly for us, they noticed 54 at the pound. They asked if we could sponsor her, so they could afford to take her on. I told GPRS that we would try to raise $125 and they said that would be enough to enable them to save her.
Since 54 does not have a name, GPRS said that we could name her!
Please help get 54 out of the kill shelter by making a tax-deductible donation of $5-$25 in her name to GPRS at their website at http://www.greatpyreneesrescuesociety.org/
Donations can be made by check, Paypal or credit card. If you do donate, please comment below so we can keep track.
I think it would only be fair for the people that donate to decide on a pretty name for this precious girl.
Thanks for your help - together we can save a lot of precious lives!
