Queenie
Would you give $5 to help this poor girl?
This poor lady is Queenie. She was found by a motorist on a busy highway. This Good Samaritan took Queenie to a kill shelter. Janet Davis (National Akbash Rescue) teamed up with Pam Tobin (Sierra Pacific Great Pyr Rescue) to save her. They asked us to sponsor her and then grabbed her from the shelter.
Here’s what Pam has to say: “…I don’t have to tell you what bad shape she was in. This dog was loaded with dead flesh and blood (not sure where it came from), cockle burrs, foxtails, and all kinds of stickers!"
"We had an ultrasound done on her today to make sure she wasn’t pregnant. It’s obvious that this dog has been used as a breeder and has had lots of puppies. After Tuesday there won’t be any more babies for this little gal. She is thought to be about 4-5 yrs old and has some arthritis in her hips already and probably a mild dysplastic situation that she will easily be able to live with and when older put on anti-inflammatories….most old dogs are on something. She has had her shots and her results from her heartworm check will be in tomorrow. Let’s hope that’s negative. She is now clean, flea and tick free and comfortable. Her appetite is good and she’s on an immune boosting diet and glucosamine. I suspect before long she will look like the royalty her name implies, she certainly didn’t when she came. She smelled as bad as she looked, but no more!"
Please help us raise the $140 we need to help save her using the ChipIn.
All donations go directly from Paypal to National Great Pyrenees Rescue, a 501(c)(3) charity, and are tax-deductible. Please chip in - together we can save this one and many more!
